North Tyneside Promoted by Theo Paphitis

Updated: Feb 9, 2019

Serenity Jiu Jitsu received backing from former Dragon Den and retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis about the martial arts gym as part of his Twitter ‘Small Business Sunday’ #SBS campaign earlier this year making the gym a #SBSWinnersHour attendee. The tweet caught Theo’s eyes with it highlighting how martial arts classes improve children’s confidence, focus, and sometimes even their grades at school.

The gym, which specialises in teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, submission grappling, and self defence classes for children, adults and schools, was one of six weekly winners to win this award. Jonny said, “It’s difficult for small businesses to raise their profile and Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about our adults, children and school classes to his following. Excited to see him and other Small Business Sunday winners at his annual networking event, as well as checking in with other winners in their exclusive weekly Twitter #SBSWinnersHour.”

Theo Paphitis said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Serenity Jiu Jitsu every success.”

This Twitter campaign chooses six #SBS small businesses each week. The winner is awarded with the coveted badge, invites to the #SBSWinnersHour twitter chats, opportunity to host the weekly twitter chats, an entry on the winners directory, exclusive access to winners Facebook group and invitations to the annual #SBSevent.

We were told that 2018 is the year to make your business fit for purpose and fit for the future.
